My mother sent me an email today to ask if I’d heard about it. It’s one of those forwarded ones that go around about Presidential candidates. This one was about Barack Obama and claimed he had attended Wahabi and fundamentalist Muslim schools in Jakarta, Indonesia when he was young. After doing a bit of research via Wikipedia I have come to find out that this is indeed bollocks and simply scaremongering from someone most likely alligned with the right in America. Go to the Wikipedia site and have a read for yourself if you want proof. There is a Chicago Tribune article to back it up.
For some reason this email annoyed me so much that it was the impetus for me to stop sitting on the fence and officially delcare my full support for Barack Obama. I’ve now signed up to support his campaign and added a link to his website in the right-hand column of this blog. I have signed up for a mybarackobama account on his site and will be posting some blog posts to it in the coming months. I have tried to link this blog to it as well so that anyone viewing my posts on the Obama site will have a look here as well. I’m 100% behind Obama now and I hope those of you undecided (this early, that’ll be most of you) will strongly consider joining the Obama camp. I highly recommend this man.
