I love Starbucks too

There is such a feeling of hatred for Starbucks anymore. Some say it is ruining local coffee shops. Others say they hate seeing the same brands everywhere on the high street. While both are valid arguments, one cannot argue with the fact that they make a damn good cup of coffee. I excitedly texted my husband last week to say they were putting in a Starbucks right by our local train station. We already have one a mile up the road in Wimbledon but now we have one even closer in Raynes Park. When you walk or take public transport everywhere, having one right by the train station is great. I said in the text that I shouldn’t be excited but I am.

What has brought this post on was this wonderful opinion piece on exactly this matter: why is it so taboo to hate Starbucks? The writer is correct that with them you always know what you’re getting and you can always get what you want. Whether that’s simply an Irish cream latte (my favourite) or a non-fat, extra hot, extra foam, extra shot, no sugar vanilla syrup mochachino, you know you’re going to get what you want. Vive la Starbucks.
