Have you ever noticed?

That the UN only seems to condemn things? From BBC News this morning:

The UN Security Council has condemned “in the strongest terms” attacks by protesters against embassies in the Serbian capital, Belgrade.

I’m sure the protestors are quaking in their boots at the ’strongest terms’ condemnation. The thing is, it’s not just the UN. Think back on how many events over the past few years have been merely condemned by the international community or even by just another country.

It’s like a parent scolding their child by saying ‘now Johnny don’t do that.’ At the end of the day little Johnny is probably going to do it again. I’m by no means saying that we should always deal with these types of things militarily, far from it. All I am saying is that how often has condemning something in the media–from Sudanese genocide to these attacks on the embassy–done any good?
