News today that former White House press secretary Scott McClellan is publishing a book in which he accuses the Bush administration of propaganda over the war in Iraq to ‘sell’ it to the American public. While I am very happy someone so close to the administration is talking about this rather obvious (to most people, at least) occurrence I do agree with another former Bush official that it seems self-serving and why didn’t he speak up before now; like when he was in the White House? It might have made a difference then. It doesn’t now. It’s just a bitter ex-employee and Bush only has about eight months to go. He’s gotten away with it…ahem…’Scott’ free.
