The poor Republican elephant was found lying by the side of the road this morning. He was close to death. His ears had all but fallen off from listening to Bush’s speeches for the past eight years. A mouse no longer frightens him; the word terr’ist and freed’m when used in the same speech more than twice does. His toenails were jammed way up inside the foot, bleeding profusely, from kicking himself so hard for choosing Bush in 2000 as the nominee. Finally, his back was nearly broken in two from having McCain ride him so hard in the opposite direction of Bush but making no headway. He is expected to make a full recovery but may be out of action for the next four to eight years. The Democratic donkey will be taking over matters in Washington while he recovers.
